10 of The Best Hair Tips and Tricks
Even the most organized of us can run out of time in the mornings after you have spent time choosing your outfit for the day and perfecting your makeup; sometimes, there simply isn't enough time to care with your hair.
That is when some of the best 10 great hair tips and tricks can come in handy and rescue your hair in just a few minutes. However rushed you are, you don't want to leave the house looking like you just got out of bed, so read these ten great hacks and tips that will help you get your hair looking amazing and save you a heap of time.
1. Braid hair at night in for curls in the morning
If you are trying not to use heated tools, here is an easy way to get bouncy curls without using heated curlers or a hairdryer. After you have had a shower and your hair is still damp, braid your hair and leave the braids in when you go to bed. When you wake up in the morning, all you will need to do is take out the braids, and you will have bouncy waves in your hair.
2. Use aluminum foil to get better curls
If you can, get your hair to hold a curl for very long, try this little trick with aluminum foil. Fold strands of your damp hair around your finger and then wrap the curled up hair in squares of aluminum foil. Heat the foil slightly with a hairdryer, leave it to cool, and when you remove the foil, you will have curls that will last.
3. Make your style last longer with a blast of cool air
When you style your hair with a blow dryer, a quick blast of cold air when you have finished will help your style last for longer. If you go out when your hair is still warm, your hair will still be soft and malleable – one gust of wind, and your style will be gone.
4. The double ponytail trick
You can easily add volume and length to your hair with the two ponytail trick. You pull the top half only of your hair up into a ponytail first and then do the same with the bottom half. Arrange the full ponytail to cover the bottom one and hold it in place with bobby pins. It will make your hair look much fuller and longer.
5. Tame frizz with a toothbrush
Getting just the right amount of hairspray to tame frizz, but so much that it makes your hair too stiff, can be tricky. The easiest way to solve that problem is to spray some hairspray onto an old toothbrush and then use that to get those flyways under control. It works a treat, and it won't leave your hair feeling like cardboard.
6. Touch up roots with mascara
If you haven't had time to visit the salon and you need to fix your roots or hide a few strands of grey hair, at a pinch, mascara will do an excellent job of that. Quite obviously, it would be best if you use mascara that is the same shade as your hair, and don't use too much, or you will end up with a sticky mess.
7. Apply hairspray with your hands
Instead of spraying hairspray all over the place and leaving yourself choking on the fumes, spray a bit of hairspray on your hands and then run your hands over your hair. Using your hands gives you better control over how much hairspray you put on your hair, and you don't waste so much of it as well.
8. add volume to your hair while you sleep
Here's an easy way to get a bouncy, voluminous look to your hair overnight. After you have washed your hair in the evening:
- Apply some volumizing mousse and put your hair up in a bun.
- Cover your head with a towel.
- Leave it like that when you go to bed.
When you get up in the morning, give your hair a quick blast with a blow dryer and, when you let your hair down again, you will have lovely bouncy hair.
9. Apply dry shampoo before you go to bed
Dry shampoo works a lot better when you put it on the night before. If you know that your hair should be washed, but you won't have time to do it in the morning, apply dry shampoo before going to bed. It will then have plenty of time to work its way into your hair, and it will do a much better job.
10. Blot away excess oil with a toilet seat cover
If you are out and notice that your hair looks a bit greasy, you can blot that excess oil away just as you would with your skin. If you don't have any blotting papers with you, take a trip to the restroom and grab a toilet seat cover. They are made out of the same material that blotting papers are so that they will soak up the oil in just the same way.
